APPROVED SEPTEMBER 3, 2024 CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Daniel Imdieke on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 5:00 pm. Upon roll call, the following council members were present: Brian Jacob, James Gartner, Randall Meidinger, Wayne Ehley, Eric Schmidt. Absent: Travis Dockter. Also Present: City Attorney Joseph Hanson, Public Works Director Tyler Gross, City Administrator/Auditor Sharon Jangula, Deputy Auditor Joy Bosch.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

A motion to approve the August 5, 2024 Regular Meeting Minutes was made by Wayne Ehley, seconded by Brian Jacob. Unanimous aye vote; motion carried.

Tana Werner, owner of Linton Liquors LLC located at 201 Broadway St. S., provided the council with approval from the State of North Dakota for an On and Off Sale Liquor License. She presented a sketch of the approved location for on-sale which includes a portion of the parking lot. She requested the placement of a temporary fence-type barrier to rope-off the outdoor licensed area. After discussion, a motion to approve the placement of a temporary fence and to submit a building permit for a permanent fence by next Spring was made by James Gartner, seconded by Wayne Ehley. Unanimous aye vote; motion carried.

A motion to approve Building Permit Applications was made by Randall Meidinger, seconded by Eric Schmidt. Unanimous aye vote; motion carried. Building Permit Applications: 24-52 Kurtis Walls-replace floors; 24-53 Julia Paluch-concrete pad, build handicap accessible ramp; 24-54 Tyler Schummer-repair front steps; 24-55 First Baptist Church-cement slab for playground at Sonshine Park; 24-56 Robert Williamson-build deck; 24-57 Allen & Becky Keller-replace deck; 24-58 James Gartner-replace driveway.

A motion to approve Gaming Permit Application 24-07 to American Legion Dan R. Richardson Post #54 for a raffle on 10/31/24 was made by James Gartner, seconded by Brian Jacob. Unanimous aye vote; motion carried.

A motion to approve the August 2024 Monthly Financial Report was made by James Gartner, seconded by Wayne Ehley. Unanimous aye vote; motion carried.

A motion to approve the payment of bills was made by James Gartner, seconded by Brian Jacob. Unanimous aye vote; motion carried. The council was provided minutes of the LIDC Board of Directors Meeting held on July 10, 2024 and the LIDC Balance Sheet ending July 31, 2024.

The council was provided the City of Linton Audit Report for the Years Ended December 31, 2023 & 2022 prepared by Rath & Mehrer, P.C.

Fall Cleanup days will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024 in Original Town and West of Main (Broadway) Street and on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 East of Main (Broadway) Street to 8th Street NE.

The next regular meeting will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 5:00 pm with the Final Budget Hearing being held at 5:30 pm.
