12 Days of Christmas in Plymouth’s Sutton Harbour

As we get closer to the big day, it's time to celebrate the 12 days of Christmas in Plymouth's Sutton Harbour! Are you looking for the perfect spots to eat, drink, and enjoy this festive season? Join us as we count down 12 delightful venues to dine in to celebrate the holidays.

Day 12: Alfresco

We are kicking off the countdown with Alfresco, the perfect place to grab a coffee on the cobbles. Nestled by the water, looking across Sutton Harbour, take a seat and watch the world go by. Catch the boats coming in and out of the harbour as you sip a frothy coffee and tuck into one of their sweet treats and. Or take your drink with you to warm you through on a brisk walk along the seafront.

Day 11: Miller & Carter

With 11 days to go, why not treat yourself to a decadent dinner at Miller & Carter? Indulge in their perfectly seared steaks at this upscale restaurant with a relaxed vibe. Their festive menu features some standout starters such as baked goat's cheese on sourdough and a chicken liver and brandy parfait. Stunning mains include their signature ribeye, fillet, sirloin and prime rump steaks. You can also choose from a turkey ballotine wrapped in pancetta, grilled sea bass or an oyster mushroom galette with a range of festive sides.

If you still have room for dessert, you'll be spoiled for choice. Choose from a classic Christmas pudding, poached pear, panettone or chocolate brownie. Wash it all down with one of their limited edition festive cocktails, jingle berry sour, winterberry bellini and a spiced apple cooler.

Day 9: Armado Lounge

The Armado Lounge is a café bar perfect for families, colleagues, and friends celebrating this festive season. This versatile venue serves something for everyone. Their Christmas menu will be available up until the 31^st December so come down and get cosy.

There are tasty options for everyone including vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options - it's a sure choice in the run up to Christmas. Hearty classics and a range of alcoholic, non-alcoholic and soft drinks will leave everyone satisfied.

As it is the season of giving, tuck into something different with their tapas sharing starters. Choose from red pepper and mozzarella arancini, lamb kofte, hot smoked salmon croquettes, roasted squash and harissa hummus and Christmas patatas bravas.

Day 8: Rockfish

Nothing beats a seafood restaurant serving fresh fish caught that very morning. When it comes to Christmas time, that is no different at Rockfish. Tuck into their seasonal set menu which is available from Tuesday until 5pm Friday every week this winter.

Start with a wild prawn tempura or Greek Island Salad followed by a main of whole lemon sole with lemon and garlic butter served with a rocket salad and your choice of new potatoes or unlimited chips. Day 6: Rakuda

Raise your spirits at Rakuda Bar for Day 6 of our countdown. With great food, a lively bar, live music and outdoor seating, it's the perfect location to round off the day and begin your evening. Rakuda is located just next to the water, offering a great view of the Barbican's Christmas lights if you choose to sit outside. Soak in the energetic atmosphere and the buzz of Christmas being just around the corner with their seasonal offering of mulled wine!

Day 5: The Greek

Doing some last-minute Christmas shopping around Sutton Harbour and the Barbican? The Greek is the perfect pit stop for Day 5 of our countdown. For a quick but incredibly satisfying bite, grab some Grecian inspired street food to take away. Think filling souvlaki wraps, halloumi, Greek salads and tzatziki. Stop for a breather and grab a seat by the harbour as you tuck in and watch the world go by.

Day 4: The Ship

It's almost time, we have 4 days to go. Why not head down to The Ship for a practice run of your Christmas day dinner? Load up on their festive menu favourites which, of course, features roast turkey and Christmas pudding as well as some contemporary twists on the classics.

Start with a pork and black pudding scotch egg or a smoked chalk stream trout. Go big with the mains like warm squash, beetroot, brie and truffle infused tart, a festive beef burger or a pan-fried fillet of Cornish whiting.

If you're all in for dessert, you'll have plenty of choice from crumble, profiteroles, trifle and tortes (with a cheese board to finish if you still have room).

The Ship is fit for the whole family (and even the dog), so why not head down and kick off the Christmas celebrations a little early?
