Executive Order establishing authorised strength of Russia’s Armed Forces

Pursuant to Article 4 of Federal Law No. 61-FZ of May 31, 1996, On Defence, the President has resolved to establish the authorised strength of the Russian Federation Armed Forces at 2,389,130 personnel, including 1,500,000 servicemen.

The Government of the Russian Federation has been instructed to allocate the necessary budgetary funds from the federal budget to the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation for the implementation of this Executive Order.

Presidential Executive Order No. 915 of December 1, 2023, On Establishing the Authorised Strength of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, shall be deemed null and void.

This Executive Order shall enter into force on December 1, 2024.
