Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani to attend the Quint Meeting in Paris

Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani will attend the Quint meeting to be held in Paris tomorrow, 19 September. The Foreign Ministers of the United States, France, the United Kingdom and Germany will also take part in the meeting.

The summit will focus on the crisis in the Middle East, paying particular attention to the progress of the ongoing ceasefire negotiations in Gaza and the situation in Lebanon. The issue of strengthening support for Ukraine will also be discussed.

"We are working tirelessly with our partners to seek possible solutions to the crises that threaten international stability and peace," said Minister Tajani.

"The Paris meeting will provide an opportunity to assess the progress made in the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza and to discuss ways to try to avoid further regional escalation, also in the light of the recent events in Lebanon. We will then discuss how to further support Ukraine in dealing with the constant attacks launched by Russia against the population and civilian facilities. As the G7 Presidency, we will also address these issues at the next UN General Assembly High Level Week in New York," concluded the Deputy Prime Minister.
