Press Release

On July 16, 2024, State Police arrested Todd J. Podrazik, 47, of Schenectady, NY, for Grand Larceny in the third degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fourth degree, Criminal Impersonation in the second degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree, two counts of Petit Larceny, and Numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

On July 16, 2024, at about 11:30 a.m. State Police of Princetown stopped a vehicle on I-890 in Rotterdam, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver provided false identifying information but was later identified as Podrazik. Podrazik did not have a valid driver's license, and the vehicle was found to be uninsured and unregistered. Before towing the vehicle, Troopers located multiple brand-new items with attached price tags. Also located in the vehicle was a glass smoking device containing drug residue. Surrounding patrols were contacted, and it was determined that Podrazik had reportedly stolen merchandise valued at over $3,000 from a store in Amsterdam, NY, earlier in the day but was confronted by a store employee outside the store, and the items were recovered. Podrazik then fled to the location before law enforcement arrived.

The continued investigation revealed that the items Troopers located in Podrazik's vehicle had been allegedly stolen by Podrazik from multiple additional stores located in Amsterdam, NY, that day. Those businesses had not yet reported the thefts. All stolen property was seized.

Podrazik was transported to SP Princetown, where he was processed on all charges. He was then transported to the Schenectady County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
