Mayor Mantello Delivers 2025 Budget on Time

Troy, NY (Oct 11) - Mayor Mantello officially submitted the City of Troy's 2025 Budget before the 11:59pm deadline on October 10th. The budget, along with the Mayor's message, can be viewed by visiting www.troyny.gov/budget.

The 2025 budget highlights the administration's focus on innovation, accountability, and fiscal responsibility. This was the first time in 40 years that an administration came into office without a comptroller, yet, with the help of an outside accounting firm, the City has done more with less.

Some of the key highlights for residents to acknowledge include a 1.89% tax increase, the lowest it has been since 2019 despite mandated NYS cost increases. This increase also sits below other municipalities.

In addition, the garbage fee has remained the same for the first time since its inception. In 2025, Mayor Mantello and the administration intend to do an in depth audit of trash barrels, and seek ways of phasing out this fee for residents.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to the Deputy Mayor, Treasurer, Comptroller's Office, Deputy Corporation Counsel and other staff and partners for their hard work.

This administration is committed to long-term, sustainable growth. Together, we can continue to repair the failures of the past, enhance the quality of life for all Troy residents, and build a stronger, more financially stable city.
