The Akron Public Art Commission awards Contractor, Artists, and Designs for Phase One of Control Box Wrapping

Akron, Ohio, October 4, 2024 - Akron's Public Art Commission (APAC) has selected 14 residents of the City of Akron to showcase their art on 20 Traffic Control Boxes in 10 wards in various locations across the city. Congratulations to those winners!

The Commission was established to oversee the budget, strategy, collection, and administration of the Plan for Public Art. The Akron Public Art Program is dedicated to celebrating the cultural vitality of the people of Akron and promoting economic vibrancy throughout Akron through the integration of high-quality artwork into public places. Thank you to the residents of Akron who participated in the first phase of wrapping the traffic control boxes and we look forward to wrapping 80 more in 2025.

The Public Art Commission would also like to acknowledge Central Graphics, located at 924 Home Avenue in Akron as the winning contractor who will wrap the 20 Traffic Control Boxes.
