PennDOT's Washington County Maintenance Update Week of July 22, 2024

​Uniontown, PA - Washington County Maintenance Manager Susan Howard announced the following tentative work plan for the week of July 22. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Base repairs:

• Route 40 (Main Street) in Centerville and West Brownsville boroughs.
• Route 2040 (Main Street) in Fallowfield Township.
• Route 2071 (Richeyville Road) in West Pike Run Township.

Bridge replacement:

• Route 1061 (Mingo Church Road) in Nottingham Township.

Road closed. Posted detour:

• Route 1061 (Mingo Church Road).
• Route 1059 (Sugar Run Road).
• Route 1006 (Venetia Road, Rankintown Road, Washington Avenue).
• Route 88 (Washington Avenue, Brownsville Road, Finleyville Road).

Brushing and tree trimming:

• Route 221 (Dunns Station Road) in Morris Township.

Ditch/drain cleaning:

• Route 231 (East Finley Drive) in East Finley Township.
• Route 2001 (South Main Street Extension) in Amwell Township and the City of Washington.
• Route 2002 (Vance Station Road) in South Strabane Township.

Mowing:

• Route 22 Ramp 8046 in Hanover Township.
• Interstate 70 Ramp 8014 (Jefferson Avenue) in the City of Washington.
• Route 221 (Chestnut Street Extension) in Buffalo Township.
• Route 519 Park and Ride Ramp 9501 in North Strabane Township.
• Route 837 Ramp 8025 in Donora Borough.

Patching:

• Route 2071 (Richeyville Road) in West Pike Run Township.

Seal coating:

• Route 231 (East Finley Drive) in Blaine, Donegal, East Finley, and Independence townships and Claysville Borough.
• Route 3019 (Beham Ridge Road) in Donegal and West Finley townships.
• Route 3026 (Enon Church Road) in West Finley Township.
• Route 3029 (Burnsville Ridge Road) in East Finley, West Finley, and South Franklin townships.
• Route 3035 (Rocky Run Road) in East Finley, Morris, and West Finley townships.
• Route 3037 (Ackley Creek Road) in West Finley Township.

Shoulder cutting:

• Route 40 (National Pike) in Amwell, North Bethlehem, South Strabane, and West Pike Run townships and Centerville Borough.
• Route 519 (Chartiers Creek Road) in North Strabane and Somerset townships.
• Route 2005 (Smith Run Road) in Amwell and North Bethlehem townships.
  
• Route 2011 (Lone Pine Road) in Amwell and West Bethlehem townships.
• Route 2020 (Plumsock Road) in Amwell, Morris, and West Bethlehem townships.
• Route 2047 (Little Creek Road) in Amwell and West Bethlehem townships.

Slide repair:

• Route 2015 (Spring Valley Road) in West Bethlehem Township.
• Route 2026 (Ridge Road) in Centerville Borough.

Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the county.

PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern. This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways. The number is 1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623).

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
