Fall USI Liberal Arts Faculty Colloquium Series to begin September 12

The University of Southern Indiana College of Liberal Arts will host its first Faculty Colloquia presentation of the Fall Semester from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 12 in Rice Library Room 0017, located in the lower level of the Rice Library. The event is open to the public at no charge.

Dr. Kristina Baker, Assistant Professor of Psychology, will present "Juvenile Defendants Experiencing Autism Spectrum Disorder: How Defendant Race and Offense Type Affect Juror Decisions" and will answer audience questions about her findings.

Baker's presentation will outline the treatment of individuals experiencing autism spectrum disorder (ASD) involved in the criminal legal system and how attaching the ASD label to their descriptions may affect their perception and punishment.

  • Dr. Melissa Stacer, Professor of Criminal Justice Studies and the Director of USI's Master of Arts in Criminal Justice Program, 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 15 in Rice Library RL0017
  • Dr. Urska Dobersek, Associate Professor of Psychology, 3 p.m. Thursday, November 21 in Rice Library RL0017
  • Dr. Bartell Berg, Associate Professor of German, 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 3 in Rice Library RL0017
