Investigation Update: Two Suspects Arrested Following a Shooting Incident in Roxbury

Investigation Update: At about 9:45 AM, on Friday, September 13, 2024, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Elton Shepard, 66, of Hyde Park, in the area of 150 Clare Avenue. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was wanted on a warrant issued out of Roxbury District Court for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Assault to Murder, Discharge of a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.

At about 10:55 AM, on Friday, September 13, 2024, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Elton Shepard Jr., 42, of Boston, in the area of 4 Walnut Street, Brookline. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was wanted on a warrant issued out of Roxbury District Court for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Assault to Murder, Discharge of a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.

The facts and circumstances surrounding the prior incident are as follows: At about 3:22 AM, on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to the area of 2359 Washington Street for a report of a shot spotter activation. A person shot entered District B-2, and officers began rendering medical aid. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
