With more than 30 murals spanning from SODO to Belltown, The Hope Corps Downtown Seattle Mural Project is a partnership between Seattle's Office of Arts & Culture (ARTS) and six downtown neighborhood organizations.

In 2023, ARTS gave a total of $700,000 to Belltown United, Downtown Seattle Association (DSA), Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority (SCIDpda), SODO Business Improvement Area (SODO BIA), Visit Seattle, and Wing Luke Memorial Foundation to commission these murals with members of their communities. The organizations worked with local artists to celebrate Downtown Seattle's vibrant arts, culture, and entertainment. See a full list of the artists below.

The Hope Corps Downtown Seattle Mural Project is part of Mayor Harrell's Downtown Activation Plan.

About Hope Corps

Inspired by the New Deal's Works Progress Administration, we launched Hope Corps in 2021 as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the widespread loss of work and income in the creative sector. While its focus has shifted each year, one thing has remained the same: Hope Corps supports economic recovery for Seattle's creative workforce by connecting under- and unemployed artists, creative workers, and culture keepers with career opportunities that contribute to the well-being of Seattle. In addition, Hope Corps awardees benefit from being part of a Community of Practice, with regular convenings offering workshops, networking, and ways to share their work.
