San Joaquin County - Caltrans is preparing to begin a maintenance project to repair the roadway surface and improve motorist safety at several bridge locations on Interstate 5, State Route 99 (SR-99) and SR-26 in San Joaquin and Calaveras Counties.
The project will make pavement repairs at several bridge deck approaches and departures and install high friction surface treatment to bridge decks to extend service life, improve reliability and safety for motorists. Work will occur at the following locations:
The project is set to begin the week of July 14-20, 2024, (weather permitting) and is scheduled for 45 working days with completion expected by September 2024.
Motorists should expect overnight, alternating lane closures and connector ramp closures on I-5 and SR-99 and overnight, one-way traffic control on SR-26. Caltrans will have roadside signage and/or flaggers alerting motorists of the closures.
This $1.9 million maintenance project will be performed by Q&D Construction (Sparks, NV.) Future traffic advisories will include lane closure details.
