Cobb DTC 'Successfully Sober' Family BBQ Event

Cobb County Drug Treatment Court was thrilled to host its first 'Successfully Sober Summer BBQ' event for participants and their family members. DTC Team Members, contract providers, community partners, and other guests attended the event.

On July 13, 2024, everyone gathered at Laurel Park in Marietta, GA, for an afternoon of fun. There were outdoor games, including basketball, cornhole, tug of war, and sack races. Some participants chose to stay out of the sun and played card games under the pavilion. The children enjoyed having their faces painted with beautiful and unique designs! And no fantastic event is spectacular without excellent food. Special thanks to the Rotary Club of Marietta Metro and Celebrate Recovery Eastwood Baptist Church members for hosting our event and ensuring that everyone was well-fed and happy!

Porsha Middlebrook, Program Coordinator, Cobb County Drug Treatment Court shared, "It was a wonderful experience to congregate outside of the courtroom with participants and their families, and it was a great opportunity for the court to model the possibility of pro-social activities on one's journey to health and well-being!
