Pro Mujer and Audiopedia Foundation join forces to democratize access to education for Indigenous and rural women

With more than three decades of experience advancing gender equality in Latin America, Pro Mujer has entered into a strategic collaboration with Audiopedia Foundation, an educational platform that provides content in accessible formats for women facing linguistic and technological barriers. Both organizations seek to reach Indigenous and rural women through audio materials adapted to their native languages, free of charge, easy to understand, and without the need for an internet connection, designed to eliminate access obstacles and empower the most marginalized women.

To provide transformative resources, the content of Emprende Pro Mujer, a digital educational platform devoted to women seeking economic prosperity through their entrepreneurial ventures, will be adapted to an audible format in different native languages to ensure the inclusion of Indigenous and less literate women. This exclusive content, which reinforces the materials taught on the platform on leadership, digital, management, personal development, finance, and sales skills, will be available on the Audiopedia website, which women will be able to access directly from their mobile devices.

"This partnership with Pro Mujer allows us to connect innovative technology with the urgent needs of Indigenous and rural women in Latin America. At Audiopedia Foundation, we believe that knowledge should be accessible to everyone, regardless of language, literacy level, or geographic location. Through our audio platform offering content in Indigenous languages, we offer a powerful tool for these communities to access vital and culturally relevant information," said Marcel Heyne, co-founder and director of Audiopedia Foundation.

The partnership addresses the urgent need to include what has been called the "Silent Billion": one billion women in the world who are marginalized due to lack of literacy or linguistic exclusion. These women, many of whom speak Indigenous languages, lack opportunities to access information that could transform their lives. Even though 3.1 billion people live in areas with internet coverage and more than 80% of women own a mobile phone, they do not use this technology due to a lack of literacy or digital skills (GSMA).

In a world where millions of women are still deprived of opportunities, this partnership lays out a bridge to a more equal future, where each of those women can have the tools to prosper and contribute to the development of their family and community. It is time to continue closing gaps and transforming the reality of all women," highlights Carmen Correa, CEO of Pro Mujer.
