Suspect to identify in an assault on Rideau Street

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, October 8, 2024 1:22 pm

(Ottawa) - The Ottawa Police Service Central Criminal Investigations Section is seeking the public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an assault in the 200 block of Rideau Street on September 16th.

At approximately 6:30 pm, the suspect attempted to take something from the victim, when the victim would not allow him to take it, the suspect assaulted him. The victim sustained minor injuries.

The suspect is described as black male, between 30 and 40 years old, approximately 5'8" (173 cm) with short black hair. At the time of the incident, he is seen wearing a blue bathrobe and sandals (see photos).
