Tennessee State University Homecoming Game and Parade Are Saturday - Know Before You Go

Tennessee State University alumni and football fans traveling to Nissan Stadium Saturday for this year's 5 p.m. homecoming game against Eastern Illinois University are urged to make a parking/arrival plan well in advance, get to the stadium early, and expect traffic slowdowns in the afternoon due to reduced parking options related to construction of the new Nissan Stadium.

Nissan Stadium campus prepaid parking passes are sold out for all lots. Staff will be checking for parking passes at the Shelby Avenue and Woodland Street entrances to the Nissan Stadium campus. Lot N, across Shelby Avenue from the stadium, will have limited gameday parking available for purchase. Lot N and all other lots will open at 7 a.m. Saturday and close at 10 p.m.

More than 80 Metro police officers will be on the streets immediately surrounding Nissan Stadium to assist with the traffic flow. The same traffic plan that is used for NFL games will be in effect, except there will be no closure of the Woodland Street Bridge.

Tennessee State University homecoming traditionally draws the school's largest football attendance of the year. Alumni and fans without prepaid parking passes are encouraged to park downtown and walk to the stadium or use a rideshare option.

Rideshare Plan for Nissan Stadium

Two locations are available close to Nissan Stadium: Interstate Drive between Woodland Street and Shelby Avenue, and Crutcher Street at S 2nd Street.
