Orange County to host free showing of The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare for veterans on May 1st

Goshen, N.Y. - Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus and Veterans Service Agency Director Christian Farrell will host a free showing for veterans of the recently released Lionsgate Films movie at 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1st at Flagship Premium Cinemas, located at 34 Millpond Parkway in Monroe.

Farrell coordinated the event with Town of Monroe Supervisor Tony Cardone and the Monroe Town Board. "It's always gratifying to host these events for our veterans with County Executive Neuhaus," Farrell stated. "The veterans who attend are always appreciative and have a wonderful time."

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, which stars Henry Cavill and includes Eiza Gonzalez, Cary Elwes, and Til Schweiger, tells the story of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a group of military officials who plot to neutralize Hitler's fleet of German U-boats during World War II. The motley crew of rogues and mavericks that make up the top-secret combat unit use unconventional techniques to battle the Nazis and ultimately change the course of the war. The film is based on the book Churchill's Secret Warriors: The Explosive True Story of the Special Forces Desperadoes of WWII; by Damien Lewis and opened in theaters on April 19th.

"Having just been to Washington, D.C. with my dad and other World War II veterans on the most recent Hudson Valley Honor Flight, I know how much veterans sometimes enjoy being together and talking with fellow soldiers about their experiences. I'm sure this movie will be enjoyed by veterans of all ages, whether they've seen combat or not," Neuhaus said. "We look forward to hosting this event and appreciate the Town of Monroe and the Flagship Premium Cinemas working with us to make it happen. I hope that Orange County veterans will take advantage of the opportunity to spend some time together and enjoy a great movie."

A free ticket to view The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare on May 1st for a veteran and a guest, which includes free popcorn and a drink, can be reserved by contacting Farrell at 291-2470 or [email protected].
