SAE International® Connects Key Players in Propulsion and Powertrain at 2024 Energy & Propulsion Conference & Exhibition

Event Focuses on Emerging Technologies in Propulsion/Powertrain Systems for Light-, Medium-, and Heavy-Duty Vehicles

WARRENDALE, Pa. (Aug 28, 2024) - SAE International® is excited to announce the upcoming Energy & Propulsion Conference & Exhibition (EPC), Nov. 12-14, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio. This highly anticipated event is where the most promising new mobility technologies and pathways to electric propulsion and fuel efficiency will be revealed. The event brings together leading scientists and design engineers from OEMs, academia, and suppliers to connect, collaborate and explore how to move powertrain performance forward as global investment in electrical vehicles (EVs) grows.

"There's a very real need for an intentional and continued improvement for EVs and EV infrastructure. We also need technical experts to work together to determine which one method will achieve the most effective greenhouse gas reduction," stated EPC planning committee member, Dr. Elena Chapman, Energy and Emissions Regulatory Technical Specialist for General Motors.

Keynote speakers sharing their unique expertise include:
  • James Gamble, Vice President, Engine and Power Solutions Technology, Wabtec Corporation
  • Prof. Dr.-Ing. André Casal Kulzer, Chair in Automotive Powertrain Systems, IFS Institute of Automotive Engineering, Univ. Stuttgart FKFS Board of Management, FKFS Automotive R&D
  • Dr. Laurent Pilon, Program Director, ARPA-E

In addition, executive panel discussions will delve into topics impacting critical areas of powertrain and propulsion, including:
  • Low Carbon Fuels (LD & HD)
Potential for low carbon clean fuels, challenges of bringing the fuels to commercial scale, delivering within the infrastructure, and establishing fuel validation and standards.
  • EVs and EV Infrastructure (LD-HD)
Experts from state and federal government agencies, electricity and charging providers, and industry will discuss the critical path forward to developing a sustainable charging and hydrogen infrastructure.
  • Special Applications (on- /off- road, small engines, rail, marine)
Panelists will discuss application-specific considerations for both low carbon liquid fuels and emissions compliance.

The SAE Energy & Propulsion Conference & Exhibition is a must-attend event for anyone involved in the energy, propulsion, and mobility sectors. Whether you are an engineer, researcher, policymaker, or business leader, this event offers unparalleled opportunities to learn from the best in the industry, stay ahead of the latest trends, and contribute to the development of sustainable transportation solutions.
