Council will be undertaking works to reduce slips outside of the Arts Centre Warburton.

From 23 December, sections of footpath will be cordoned off for works to the existing entrance paving material at the arts centre.

Yarra Ranges Mayor and O'Shanassy Ward Councillor, Jim Child, said the works will mean a safer entrance to the arts centre in the new year.

"The Arts Centre Warburton is one of our most beloved community venues, where people regularly go to see movies, watch live performances, see breathtaking artwork made by local artists, and meet with groups, families and friends," he said.

"We're aware that the current paving poses a slipping risk; we'll have contractors replacing the brick paving for concrete, making the arts centre safer on and after wet days.

"When the Arts Centre re-opens from 4 January, I strongly encourage Yarra Ranges locals, near and far, to visit our website, see what's on and plan a visit."

During the works, contractors will aim to minimise impacts to pedestrians and ensure adequate room on the footpath for community members, including those with prams and wheelchairs.
