On behalf of the United States of America and its people, I send my wholehearted congratulations to the people of Singapore on your 59th National Day on August 9.

The United States and Singapore have enjoyed a cooperative, fruitful, and constructive relationship for nearly six decades. Our relationship is based on our shared interests and shared vision of a free, open, secure, and resilient Indo-Pacific region and world. It has been deepened by strong defense and economic ties, people-to-people relationships, and common respect for diversity and the rule of law. We look forward to many more years of friendship and collaboration to further bolster our strong partnership.
