The Integration Act has been presented to Parliament

A new integration law proposal has been presented to the Parliament (Løgtingið). The law proposal is applicable to foreigners with a residence permit in the Faroe Islands.

If the law proposal is passed it will enter into force on 1st of July 2025. Specific provisions will first enter into force on 1st of January 2026 and 1st of July 2026, to make room for authorities and municipalities to make necessary preparations.

An English translation has been made in cooperation with the refugee coordinator in Tórshavn municipality.
