Animal Welfare, FDOH-Escambia to Offer Free Rabies Vaccine Clinic Oct. 5

The Escambia County Department of Animal Welfare, in partnership with Florida Department of Health in Escambia County, will offer a free drive-through rabies vaccine clinic Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Escambia County Central Office Complex, 3363 W. Park Place.

The clinic is open to Escambia County residents only, with photo identification required upon arrival. Only cats and dogs will be vaccinated. All animals must be secured in the vehicle to receive treatment. Vaccines are available while supplies last.

Escambia County residents are required to have any dogs, cats and ferrets four months or older vaccinated against rabies by a licensed veterinarian. These animals must be re-vaccinated 12 months after the initial vaccination. Proof of rabies vaccination is required to obtain a county animal license.
