The Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye brings together film enthusiasts each year in December via the EU Human Rights Film Days and Short Film Competition to celebrate Human Rights Day.
The event is held with the participation of the Diplomatic Missions of the EU Member States and the EU National Institutes for Culture with the support of local governments.
This year, the event will be held both online and in cinemas. It will showcase a range of human rights-themed feature films, short films, documentaries, fiction, and animation films that have not yet been screened in Türkiye.
24 European films will meet the audience on 10-15 December 2024 at the Kızılay Büyülü Fener Cinema in Ankara and over the Festival Scope online platform at https://www.festivalscope.com/page/euhrfd-2024/.
All film screenings, both in cinemas and online, will be open to the public and free of charge.
All films screened in cinemas and online will include English and Turkish subtitles. When displayed online, they will also include Turkish captions.
The online platform features interviews with filmmakers.
Cinema hall screenings will offer Q&As.
The award-winning films from the 14th EU Human Rights Short Film Competition will also be showcased as part of the 14th EU Human Rights Film Days.
