Michigan City, Indiana - Horizon Bank is pleased to announce the $2,500 grant awarded to the Urban League of Northwest Indiana to contribute to their program, Project Ready.
Project Ready offers enhanced academic assistance to 9th and 10th-grade high school students, aiming to inspire them to explore post-secondary education and career pathways. Structured around an 8-week curriculum, the program includes elements such as student applications, pre- and post-topic knowledge assessments, written and oral presentations, digital literacy training, and college tours.
The grant will fund the salaries of two instructors, provide student materials, support student incentives, cover expenses related to social-emotional learning, and finance transportation for in-person college visits.
