How to support justice involved women in re entry, Nov. 11

The Institute for Women's Leadership Student Advisory Board will present a panel event titled "How to support justice-involved women in re-entry," on Monday, Nov. 11, from noon to 1 p.m. in AMU 157.

Re-entry is a subject that often goes unnoticed, and the IWL is working to change that narrative. Re-entry efforts are centered around supporting people as they come back into society after being incarcerated, which is often a very difficult journey.

The event will feature a panel discussion with staff from Milwaukee's leading re-entry nonprofit for women, the Benedict Center, and the assistant director of Marquette's Center for Urban Research, Teaching, and Outreach. This event offers college students and community members a unique chance to expand their understanding of social justice, re-entry programs and advocacy. Register online.

Engaging in this dialogue also equips participants with the knowledge and skills to create positive change in their future careers, particularly in roles that involve community support, criminal justice reform, or social work.
