A man has been charged over allegedly performing a Nazi salute inside a hotel in Sydney's CBD.
About 7.10pm last night (Friday 13 December 2024) officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command were flagged down by a security guard at a hotel on Pitt Street, Sydney.
Police were told a 68-year-old man had allegedly performed Nazi salutes inside the venue and did not leave when he was asked.
The man was arrested a short time later and was taken to Day Street Police Station.
He was charged with excluded person fail to leave premises when required, knowingly display by public act Nazi symbol without excuse and make a gesture in a public place that is a Nazi salute.
The 68-year-old man was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 14 December 2024).
