5 Questions for Dmitry Panenkov, emma technologies

5 Questions for Dmitry Panenkov, emma technologies

Dmitry Panenkov, founder and CEO of emma technologies, talks about the new challenges and trends in the cloud management in our eco member interview.

Mr Panenkov, could you give us a brief introduction to your company?
emma was founded with the vision of changing the way companies interact with and operate in the cloud. emma - short for 'enterprise multi-cloud management application' - promotes a cloud-agnostic approach that allows companies to freely choose their cloud providers or environments - be it on-premise, private, hybrid or public - in order to leverage the full potential of their cloud environments.

Which topics of digitalisation are particularly important to you?
Maintaining control over data is of crucial importance to companies. That is why we are focusing on enabling organisations to ensure full control over their data while complying with regional regulations.

With the increasing influence of hyperscale cloud providers, companies tend to 'lose control over their infrastructure'. For us, it is important to give them this control back. We are doing this by developing vendor-neutral standards to make cloud infrastructure widely accessible and by improving interoperability between different cloud services and technologies.

What are the current challenges in your industry, and how are you working on them?
With the increasing adoption of cloud technologies and the growing influence of hyperscale cloud providers, companies are increasingly concerned about the impact of vendor lock-in. Emma's ability to work not only with major hyperscale providers, but also with specialised providers such as DigitalOcean and regional players such as Gcore and Leaseweb, gives companies the flexibility to distribute their workloads across different providers and take advantage of the unique and innovative services offered by each provider.

How do you expect your membership of the eco Association to support you in this?
We hope to exchange experiences with members to learn from their experiences with multi-cloud environments.

What opportunities will digitalisation offer us in the future?
Digitalisation paves the way for greater efficiency, innovation and global connectivity. It promotes intelligent decision-making, tailors experiences to individual needs, drives sustainable growth and cultivates new business models. This transformative process is reshaping industries and improving the quality of life.

Mr Panenkov, thank you very much for the interview!
