Congratulating the winners of the TikTok Book Awards UK and Ireland 2024

Today, we are thrilled to announce the winners of the TikTok Book Awards UK and Ireland 2024. The votes have been counted and the TikTok community has spoken!

The TikTok Book Awards, are a true celebration of the vibrant and diverse #BookTok ecosystem, as voted for by the community. Over 82,000 voted via TikTok for their winners, from a shortlist carefully curated by a judging panel made up of some of the UK's biggest names in the world of literature and publishing.

From book reviews and recommendations, to poetry and live readings, #BookTok brings together creators, authors, and book lovers across the world through a shared passion for reading. With nearly 35 million creations to date, #BookTok continues to be one of the biggest global community on TikTok, inspiring a new generation of literature fans.

So without further ado, here are your 2024 TikTok Book Award winners for the UK & Ireland ...

Lisa Jewell, winner of Book of the Year (UK & Ireland) said: "Nobody could have predicted that #BookTok was what the publishing industry needed - it was a huge shot of adrenalin. #BookTok has given me readers that I would never have had access to otherwise. It's got me a New York Times number one best seller. I love #BookTok and I want to thank everyone in the #BookTok community who has voted for me. I am so proud and honoured."

Freya Blyth, winner of Indie Bookshop of the Year said: "This could not be further away from my tiny bookshop in rural Wales. Bookshops are a way of keeping our communities alive, helping people to find each other and find book friends. Thank you to everyone on TikTok who's voted."

Rebecca Yarros, winner of Book of the Year (International) said: "I'm so grateful that Fourth Wing has been chosen as Book of the Year (International). It has been a wild ride, and none of it would have happened without TikTok. Huge love to the #BookTok community, and my UK publishing team!"

This year's expert judging panel included TikTok creators Jack Edwards (@jack_edwards), previous winner Eden Victoria (@edenvictorria), CEO of the Publishers Association Dan Conway, Editor of The Bookseller Philip Jones, Black British Book Festival CEO & Founder Selina Brown, and renowned authors Samantha Shannon (@say_shannon) and Sara Cox (@saracoxradio2).

Alongside returning categories such as Indie Bookshop of the Year and BookTok Creator of the Year, the platform introduced Book of the Year (International), BookTok Breakthrough Author and TikTok Shop Book of the Year, to recognise the impact #BookTok continues to have on the publishing industry on the whole.
