REP LIEU STATEMENT ON HURRICANE HELENE RECOVERY

LOS ANGELES - Today, Congressman Ted Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement in the wake of Hurricane Helene's landfall across of the southeastern United States.

"My prayers are with all of those impacted by Hurricane Helene and the resulting losses of power, water and other essential services across huge swaths of our country," said Congressman Lieu. "I am thinking especially of those who have lost loved ones to the hurricane-our nation mourns with you. As communities begin to respond to Helene's destruction, I am grateful for the brave first responders and local officials who have stepped in to support their neighbors."

"Should congressional leadership call lawmakers back to Washington to vote on emergency disaster relief funding, I stand ready alongside my House Democratic colleagues to deliver aid to impacted areas. I am thankful for President Biden and Vice President Harris's steady leadership throughout this crisis."
