Borussia Dortmund's U23s have also won their second pre-season friendly. Jan Zimmermann's team ran out 6-0 winners away to FSV Gevelsberg, who had invited BVB to celebrate their club anniversary, with goals from Paul Besong, Ayman Azhil, Franz Roggow, Yannick Lührs, Michael Eberwein and Jordi Paulina.

Coach Jan Zimmermann once again took the opportunity to field almost two complete teams in Gevelsberg and BVB started the first half with Leon Klussmann in goal, Baran Mogultay, Ben Hüning, Yannik Lührs and Niklas Jessen in defence and Ayman Azhil as captain, Franz Roggow and Antonios Foti in midfield. Julian Hettwer, Paul Besong and Moses Otuali started in the offence. Borussia started with commitment from the outset and opened the scoring early on through striker Besong. In the course of the first half, Borussia had many opportunities, three of which Azhil, Roggow and Lührs converted into goals - the score was 4-0 going into the half-time break.

The following team then started the second 45 minutes in front of a crowd of over 1,000 fans: Leon Klussmann remained in goal, with Guille Bueno, David Lelle, Leonardo Posadas and Justin Butler in an unfamiliar position at right-back making up the back four. Ayman Azhil remained on the pitch in midfield, while Michael Eberwein and Felix Paschke were new signings. Rodney Elongo-Yombo, Jordi Paulina and Babis Drakas were used in attack. After the break, Eberwein and Paulina scored to make the final score 6-0.

Coach Jan Zimmermann was satisfied with this friendly: \"It was important that all the fit players got to play under competitive conditions, that we didn't concede any chances defensively and were able to score a few goals ourselves.\"
