9/7/24 Involuntary Manslaughter Arrest

(PEORIA, IL) Friday, September 6, 2024, at approximately 10:41 p.m. Peoria Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of S. Griswold on a report of a person shot.

When officers arrived, they located an adult female (20 years old) inside the residence with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene.


Officers also made contact with an adult male identified as 18-year-old Nathaniel Archuleta inside the residence.

Members of the Peoria Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Special Investigations Division (SID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU), and Patrol Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.

Archuleta was transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing purposes and subsequently arrested for Involuntary Manslaughter, Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, Possession of a Handgun Under 21, and No FOID.

Archuleta was transported to the Peoria County Jail.

This incident remains under investigation.
