Maine Democratic Party Statement on Speaker Johnson Campaigning for Austin Theriault

Maine Democratic Party Chair Bev Uhlenhake released the following statement:

"This week while Maine Dems are opening our 12th campaign office across the state, the Republicans are opening their first. While we're fired up - to elect Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, and Democrats up and down the ballot, the Maine GOP is playing catch up.

"Austin Theriault was hand-selected by House Republican leadership to be a loyal follower, walk the party line, and help them pass their extreme agenda to roll back Mainers' rights and freedoms, undo the progress made for Maine's seniors, and hurt our middle class. Mainers see through it and want to elect real leaders who will stand up for them and their values. That's Jared Golden, and he will continue to show Mainers that he's fighting for them.

"This will be a very close election, but Maine Democrats are in a strong position to win big on Election Day from the State House to the White House."
