In a region prone to natural hazards, the EU allocates resources to humanitarian aid, with particular attention to the most vulnerable.

The EU recently announced the allocation of over €56 million in humanitarian aid in 2024 to support people in need in the South, East and South-East of Asia and in the Pacific.

In a region prone to natural hazards, this will help people affected by ongoing humanitarian crises, as well as improve disaster preparedness.

The EU continues to provide humanitarian assistance in response to human-induced disasters and natural hazards, with particular attention to the most vulnerable.

Pandemics, natural disasters, and humanitarian crises are addressed to ensure the well-being and safety of individuals and communities across the Indo-Pacific.

Improving preparedness

By providing relief, improving preparedness, and using innovative technology like Copernicus Emergency Management Service, the EU serves as a critical safety net for millions facing hardship in the Indo-Pacific.

Furthermore, the EU facilitated an ASEAN study visit to Europe for disaster management officials to enhance regional preparedness.
