Consumer Confidence Report Now Available

The Consumer Confidence Report, the City's annual water quality report, is available for review. This report contains important information about the quality of Ames drinking water.

The Consumer Confidence Report is required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the Safe Drinking Water Act Amendments of 1996. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources administers Iowa's Drinking Water Program, as delegated by the U.S. EPA.

"The consumer Confidence Report is a great resource for the City of Ames to provide information to residents on the quality of their drinking water," said John Dunn, Director of Water and Pollution Control. "It's also an opportunity to share project updates from the Water and Pollution Control Department."

At one time, the Consumer Confidence Report was included resident utility bills, but now the report is available to read online. This method of distribution helps promote our sustainability efforts and reduces costs.

Read the report online at www.CityOfAmes.org/waterreport.

Residents who prefer a paper copy of the Consumer Confidence Report mailed to them should call the Ames Water Plant at 515.239.5150 to request one.
