PennDOT's Fayette County Maintenance Update - Week of October 21, 2024

Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Fayette County Maintenance Manager Jason L. Spangler has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of October 21. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Boom mowing:

  • Route 1043 (Bitner Road) in North Union Township
  • Route 1047 (Little Summit Road) in Dunbar Township

Bridge replacement:

  • Route 1027 (Richey Road) in Bullskin Township
    • Road closed. Posted detour:
      • Route 982 (Pleasant Valley Road)
      • Route 1025 (Country Club Road)
      • Route 1027 (Richey Road)
      • Route 1046 (Country Club Lane)
      • Route 1048 (Longanecker Road)

Ditch cleaning:

  • Route 4032 (Bolden Road) in Franklin Township

Pipe flushing:

  • Route 40 (National Pike) in North Union Township

Pipe repairs:

  • Route 4028 (Grindstone Road) in Redstone Township

Pipe replacement:

  • Route 1043 (Zitney Road) in Franklin Township

Shoulder drop-off:

  • Route 119 (Morgantown Road) in Springhill Township
  • Route 857 (Springhill Furnace Road) in Springhill Township
  • Route 3009 (Walnut Hill Road) in South Union Township

Shoulder repair:

  • Route 1009 (Poplar Run Road) in Springfield Township
  • Route 1009 (White Road) in Saltlick Township
  • Route 1060 (Pritts Distillery Road) in Saltlick Township

Sign upgrading:

  • Various routes countywide

Crews will pick litter, replace downed and update signs, and address work orders on various state routes countywide.

PennDOT has a toll-free number-1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)-for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices by calling 5-1-1 or following regional X alerts.
