Troopers Arrest Man for Harassment in Stolen Truck at Rehoboth Mall

Delaware State Police arrested 38-year-old Jordan Newberry of Delmar, Delaware, for receiving stolen property and harassment following a suspicious person investigation yesterday at Rehoboth Mall.

On June 30, 2024, at approximately 12:35 p.m., a trooper responded to Walmart, located at 18922 Rehoboth Mall Boulevard in Rehoboth Beach, for a report of a suspicious person. When the trooper arrived, he learned that an unknown male suspect had been following the victim around the store, which caused her to feel alarm. After the victim exited the store, the suspect got into a white GMC Sierra and continued to follow while she was in the parking lot. During the investigation, the victim saw the suspect near the Walmart, and notified the trooper. The trooper contacted the suspect, later identified as Jordan Newberry, at the Grocery Outlet in Rehoboth Mall, and arrested him. The trooper located the suspect's white GMC Sierra with Maryland registration in the parking lot, and discovered it was reported stolen to the Salisbury Police Department in Maryland on June 29, 2024.

Newberry was taken to Troop 7, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $6,000 cash bond.
