GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The tentative opening of the Rosa Parks Circle Ice Rink for the 2024-2025 winter season is set for Thursday, Dec. 5 - weather permitting. Located in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, 135 Monroe Center St. NW, the Rosa Parks Circle Ice Rink offers residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy outdoor ice skating in a picturesque, iconic setting.
The rink is open daily through February 22. Regular operating hours and any weather-related changes to those are posted on the Rosa Parks Ice Rink Facebook page, at grandrapidsmi.gov/skating and on the closure hotline at 616-456-3699.
David Marquardt, parks and recreation director, said the rink has become a beloved winter tradition for many in the Grand Rapids community.
"We are thrilled to welcome skaters back to downtown rink this season as it provides a fantastic opportunity for families and friends to come together, stay active, and create lasting memories during the winter months."

For frequent visitors, a punch card is available at the rink after December 5. Additionally, skaters can plan their visit in advance with 50 reserved spots available for each skating session (limit six skaters per reservation). A reservation allows priority access before walk-up traffic during the reservation arrival window. Online reservations will open on Monday, Dec. 2, check grandrapidsmi.gov/skating for details & updates.
