Maine INBRE's $19.4M Renewal and Expansion Draws Strong News Coverage

MDI Bio Lab leads the network of higher education and biomedical research institiutions in Maine who are collaborating to boost the state's research capacity and create a bioscience workforce for Maine.
On Tuesday, August 13, Maine Senator Susan Collins formally announced the new award. The event was attended by representatives of all the institutions involved. In addition to Senator Collins, MDI Bio Lab president Hermann Haller, M.D., Maine INBRE Director James Coffman, Ph.D., and Lab Chief of Staff Jeri Bowers, the event featured remarks from two stellar examples of "The INBRE Effect" - Samuel Cousins, an undergraduate at Southern Maine Community College, and Jennifer Honeycutt, Ph.D., a Colby College graduate who is now a faculty member at Bowdoin College.
