Dear Union Family,
As we approach Election Day, I want to take a moment to remind you that if you have not voted, to please take time to do so before the polls close tomorrow. You may be eligible to take time off to vote. See ELM 519.32 Here.
I also want to acknowledge the incredible dedication and effort each of you has put into ensuring every mail-in ballot is delivered on time. The hard work of postal workers helps ensure every voice is heard and every vote is counted. Once again, we've proven that the work of the APWU members - and every postal worker - is essential to keeping the Postal Service and our democracy running.
As was the case in 2020, we may not immediately know who has won the election Tuesday night. It's important to keep in mind that laws about when and how mail-in-ballots can be counted significantly affect the timing of the election results.
The work we've done in this election, and the integrity we've maintained, is vital for our country.
Over the next few days, we stand with all fair-minded people throughout our country who expect and insist that every vote, including all mail ballots, will be counted and the results of the election respected.
Thank you for all you do. Stay strong, stay proud, and know that we have each other's backs.
In solidarity,
Mark Dimondstein
President, APWU
