Michigan State Police Investigating Body Washed Ashore from Lake Superior

MUNISING, Mich. - The Michigan State Police (MSP) Negaunee Post is completing a death investigation involving a body that washed ashore from Lake Superior along Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore near Miners Beach.

On 11/8/2024 MSP responded to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore after hikers spotted a deceased subject's body had washed ashore and called 911. The body was not able to be positively identified. Further efforts are being made to make a positive identification. Foul play is not suspected.

MSP was assisted by the Alger County Sheriff's Department and the National Park Service. Anyone with information is asked to contact the MSP Negaunee Post at 906-475-9922.
