Amazon is investing another $4 billion in San Francisco-based Anthropic, a leading developer of AI platforms. This brings Amazon's total investment in Anthropic to $8 billion.
Orrick advised Anthropic on the deal. Our team has advised Anthropic since its inception, including all of its previous investments.
In announcing the deal, Anthropic said the investment deepens its partnership with Amazon to "develop and deploy advanced AI systems" and establishes AWS as its primary cloud and training partner.

The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, CNBC and other media outlets reported on this latest investment.
