City of Spokane Public Works and Parks and Recreation departments will be presented with the Washington State Department of Commerce Governor's SMART Communities Award at a ceremony in northwest Spokane. The Cochran Basin Stormwater Improvement projects reduces the amount of contaminants entering the Spokane River from over 5,000 acres while improving outdoor recreation opportunities for the regional community.
