AARP Foundation Announces New Board Directors

WASHINGTON - Today, AARP Foundation announced two new members of its board of directors: Beth Chandler and Lofton Holder. The board of directors is the governing body of AARP Foundation, a charitable affiliate of AARP, which works for and with older adults to reduce senior poverty.

"We are thrilled to welcome Beth and Lofton to our board of directors," said Claire Casey, president of AARP Foundation. "They each bring rich experience and a deep commitment to equity that will inform our work to improve the lives of 39 million Americans who live in poverty or are just one life event away from slipping into it."

Beth Chandler has served as president and Chief Executive Officer of YW Boston since 2017, transforming the organization, turning around a decade of budget deficits and achieving consistent revenue growth through program restructuring and diversified funding. Previously, she served as Vice President of operations at the Achievement Network, where she improved operational efficiencies and established infrastructure for expansion. At NeighborWorks® America, Beth launched a national business development team, building partnerships with major foundations and Fortune 500 companies. Her accolades include the 2023 Leading Women Award from the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts and recognition as one of Boston Business Journal's "Power 50 Movement Makers" in 2021.

Lofton Holder is the co-founder and retired managing partner of Pine Street Alternative Asset Management LLC, recognized as the Best Hedge Fund Seeding Platform in 2018 and Hedge Fund Innovator of the Year in 2017. With over 35 years on Wall Street, he has held senior roles at Investcorp, JP Morgan, and The First Boston Corporation, showcasing his talent for developing innovative business strategies. Lofton serves as an independent director of Golub Capital BDC and is committed to advancing educational equity for youth from families with low income through various organizations. He is a board member of the Edwin Gould Foundation and Maimonides Medical Center and co-chairs the Leadership Council for the University of San Franciso Institute for Nonviolence and Social Justice. Additionally, Lofton is a member of the Stanford Rock Center Institutional Investor Forum.
