Tarleton Tennis captures ITA All-Academic Team honors for sixth straight season

STEPHENVILLE, Texas - Tarleton Tennis was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team for the sixth consecutive season, the ITA announced Monday.

In addition to being named an ITA All-Academic Team for the 10th time since 2012, three Tarleton Tennis student-athletes were also named Women's Tennis ITA Scholar-Athletes (, and ).

Any team listed for the ITA All-Academic award must have a team GPA of 3.2 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the 2023-24 academic year. All varsity letterwinners are factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year. To be named a Women's Tennis ITA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must carry a GPA of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for 2023-24 academic year.

Boisson and Makantasi each collected their fourth Women's Tennis ITA Scholar-Athlete career award, with Makantasi carrying a 4.0 GPA. Burger's honor marks her first Women's Tennis ITA Scholar-Athlete career honor.

Tarleton Tennis has collected the ITA All-Academic Team award in all four years as a member of NCAA Division I. Winning 80 percent of its matches in 2024, the Texans capped off the year with their second straight appearance in the WAC Championship match.
Founded in 1956, the ITA is the governing body of college tennis that oversees men's and women's varsity tennis at all levels - NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and Junior/Community College. Comprising approximately 1,250 men's and women's head coaches representing over 1,700 teams across the country, the ITA oversees activities involving nearly 20,000 varsity college student-athletes.
