SCDOT crews to temporarily close US 221 over Enoree River in Laurens County for repairs

​Columbia, S.C. (December 2, 2024)- The South Carolina Department of Transportation will temporarily close the bridge on US 221 over the Enoree River in Laurens County beginning December 9 for repairs. The road is expected to reopen in Spring of 2025.

As part of this closure, a detour route has been put in place. A map of the detour can be found below. Please note that US 221 will be open to local traffic only during the closure, except at the bridge site.

SCDOT encourages drivers to slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving through the work zone.
