Vladimir Putin will chair a meeting of the CIS Heads of State Council on October 8

During the summit, the leaders will discuss key cooperation tasks of the Commonwealth, as well as topical regional and international problems, and outline main areas of work in the future. It is expected that the decision will be made to pass CIS chairmanship from Russia to Tajikistan in 2025.

It is also planned to sign a number of multilateral documents promoting cooperation in the economy, culture, law enforcement, and humanitarian and military spheres, as well as to adopt an Address by the CIS Heads of State to the Commonwealth nations and the world community on the 80^th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

Vladimir Putin is expected to hold several bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit.
