Come enjoy free music every Tuesday through the end of July

The final two Starlight Revue Concerts continue in Lincoln Park the next two Tuesday nights. HyVee Grill starts selling food at 5 p.m. with music and dancing from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Lincoln Park is located at 11th Avenue and 38th Street. This Tuesday, July 23rd, bring a lawn chair and enjoy music from the Josh Duffee Orchestra. Next week's performers on July 30th will be Totes McGotes.

Get your kids ready for school

The annual Get Ready to Rock the School Year Bash is this Sunday, July 28 at Schwiebert Riverfront Park from 3 to 5 p.m. Come meet Rock Island-Milan School District teachers and leaders and more than 20 vendors, including the Rock Island Public Library. You can also enjoy free food, receive free backpacks and school supplies and sign up for Amazon gift cards.

Go on a Police Read-Along

The Rock Island Police Department has partnered with the Rock Island Public Library in a new childhood reading initiative called Police Read-Along. Members of the police department are featured as guest readers at select dates and branches. The next Read-Along story times are this Friday, July 26, July 31, August 13 and August 23.
