Celebration of Independence Day of Tajikistan in Cairo

On 29 September 2024, the Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan was celebrated in Cairo on the initiative of the Embassy of Tajikistan to Egypt. The event was attended by Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt Ahmed Shaheen, ambassadors and heads of foreign missions accredited in Egypt, experts, scientists, journalists, representatives of ministries and agencies of the host country, as well as Tajikistanis residing in Egypt.

Ambassador of Tajikistan Parviz Mirzozoda during his speech recalled the progress of our country during the period of Independence and presented global initiatives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Emomali Rahmon in solving global problems in the field of water and climate.

The Ambassador mentioned the contribution of the sons of the Tajik nation Nasir Khusraw, Abu Ali Ibn Sina, Ahmad Farghani and others in the expansion of science and literature in the Islamic world, including Egypt, and called the historical commonality of the peoples of Tajikistan and Egypt an important factor in the deep connection between the two countries from the past to the present.

Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt A. Shaheen, in his speech, congratulating our state and nation on the anniversary of Independence, called Tajikistan one of the important countries for Egypt and emphasized his country's determination to expand relations with Tajikistan.

It is worth noting that simultaneously with the Independence Day, a ceremony of presentation of the book "Tajikistan-Egypt relations over thirty years", an exhibition of national clothes and pictures of Tajikistan, a cultural-artistic program with the participation of Tajik artists, as well as an official reception were held.
