OCTA Brings Back OC Fair Express for a Convenient, Affordable Ride on Weekends

7/15/2024

Riders can get to the OC Fair on Saturdays and Sundays for just $4 round trip, avoiding the parking hassles throughout the run of the fair

ORANGE - OCTA is set to bring back the popular OC Fair Express bus service on weekends beginning Saturday, July 20, providing affordable and convenient non-stop travel to the OC Fair each weekend throughout the run of the fair.

The bus service will provide direct service from four locations throughout Orange County to the OC Fair from approximately 10 a.m. to midnight on Saturdays and Sundays, from July 20 to Aug. 18.

The service will allow riders to save time and money on parking and gas. Mirroring OCTA's low bus fares, adults can ride OC Fair Express for just $4 round trip and it's free for youth riders 18 and younger with no pass required. The free Community College Pass and all other regular OC Bus passes will also be accepted to ride OC Fair Express.

The service will be provided every 30 minutes, generally between 10 a.m. and midnight (check the website to plan your trip), from these locations:

  • Anaheim: Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC), 2626 E. Katella Ave.
  • Fullerton: Fullerton Park-and-Ride, 3000 W. Orangethorpe Ave.
  • Huntington Beach: Goldenwest Transportation Center, 7301 Center Ave.
  • Laguna Hills: Laguna Hills Transportation Center, 24282 Calle de los Caballeros.

"I'm thrilled to announce the return of the OC Fair Express this year, which provides a convenient and affordable way to get to and from the OC Fair on weekends," said OCTA Director Katrina Foley, Orange County's Fifth District Supervisor. "This partnership between OCTA, the OC Fair, and the Newport-Mesa Unified School District showcases our ability to collaborate to bring hassle-free public transportation to all residents in Orange County. This summer, it's 'Always a Good Time' at the OC Fair, especially when we leave the driving to OCTA!"

The buses will drop off and pick up passengers just a short walk from the fair entrance. This year's OC Fair, themed "Always a Good Time," is scheduled to run from July 19 to Aug. 18 in Costa Mesa.

The OC Fair Express bus service has been transporting passengers directly to the OC Fair since 2011 and returns this year after a break during the pandemic.
