AARP Foundation Experience Corps is a community-based volunteer program that empowers people over 50 to serve as tutors to help students become better readers by the end of third grade. It is a proven "triple win," helping students succeed, older adults thrive, and communities grow stronger.
Our program ensures volunteer success through extensive training, peer networks, and ongoing evaluation. Experience Corps employs a structured, evidence-based model that improves students' overall reading ability by building their fluency, accuracy, and comprehension skills.
The Pinal County division- ACHIEVE Pinal Experience Corps - is currently in 9 districts, helping elementary students across Pinal County, AZ.
About the Program: Our reading tutor program pairs volunteers with students who need extra support in developing their reading abilities. This program is designed to foster a love of reading and boost the confidence of our young learners.
